Miles Davis was one of the most imaginative and influential figures in the history of jazz.. This year celebrates the 50th year of his all time best selling jazz album, Kind of Blue. New York based trumpet extraordinaire, Shareef Clayton together with his band, Faze 3 will grace the stage at Alexis. Although Shareef is still in his early twenties, he has already performed with Wynton Marsalis at the Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, New York; and with musicians such as Cecil Bridgewater, David Sanchez and others. Collaborating with Shareef will be fellow New Yorker Norman Edwards on drums, Adil Johan on saxophone, Daniel Fong on bass and Terence Liew on piano.

Come and enjoy the music of Miles Davis as interpreted by these dynamic musicians on the 4th, 5th, 11th & 12th December 2009.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
