Replacement

Thursday, 03/04/08 - 16:55PM Filed in Lifestyle by didi | Views: 632 | Comments: 0

Thinking of replacing that tired old look? Replacement, a newly opened hair salon and boutique at Bangsar, deserves a look. Clean-cut designs and symmetrical white lines add edge and modernism to the interior. Ricco, the main founder of Replacement, explains he chose the white motif as nod to the minimalist adage of less is more. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that’s because he lacks imagination. The layout of the shop is definitely something worth checking out. Chairs are arranged randomly across the salon area. Mirrors are stylishly hung on the ceiling at acute angles. The waiting area is comfy with a line of comfy cushions and huge glass panes overlooking Jalan Telawi. Customers can also head to the boutique section of the shop to try out the merchandise.

The shop was inspired by Ricco’s 14 years of experience as a hair stylist and his travel experiences around Europe. His passion is clearly justified as he offers free consultation services to customers wishing to restyle their hair. He offers Happy Hour services every Monday to Thursday from 1-5pm when customers can talk to Ricco about various restyling options and such. Communication is a key factor for Ricco. He finds it essential to discuss with his customers about daring, new styles. Hair styling services cost between RM18 and RM120, while clothes are between RM89 and RM189. It’s generally reasonable considering Ricco and his team are experts in the business and use only quality products.

What will you be looking forward to most this Chinese New Year?
The angpaus! I can smell the crisp notes already.
The home-cooked food back home! Mmm, pork dishes galore.
The cooking and preparations. Can't leave all the work to ah ma, you know!
Baking cookies, and then gobbling them down when the bubblies are served.
Sit down dinners with the whole family to share stories.
Meeting up with friends to drink, drink, drink till the sun comes up.
The clear roads in the city! Wheee!
The lion dance shows, especially when they prance around on those poles.
The customary activities we partake in when the festivities roll by.
Darn, my Valentine's Day plans are ruined!
