At the fifth official Moto GP party at Zouk KL, the house-heavy DJs lined up for this celebration of motor sports will be: Hernán Cattáneo, Benny Benassi, DJs Are Not Rockstars (Alexander Technique) and local talents, Joey G and Twilight Actiongirl.

A legend in world club circuit, Hernán Cattáneo hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina, best known for its beef, the tango, and now its smooth house music. Dedicating his love for all kinds of dance music to his Latin roots, he does not stick to just one style, choosing instead to explore all the vast possibilities of expression through dance music.

Italian DJ, Benny Benassi’s signature bass line was inspired by the sound of traffic, making his electro-meets-house summer club hit “Satisfaction“ in 2002 an inimitable experience. If you don’t recall the trend-setting song with its slutty lyrics issued like a droned glitch over his characteristic bass riff, then you may have seen the accompanying video of hot girls with power tools. If not, then we’re sure you’ll be YouTubing it later. During his last visit here, Benassi proved just how strong his fanbase was in Kuala Lumpur so one can expect them to come in throngs at Speedzone to support the Italian.

The Americans won’t be left behind in this DJing set. Started by Alexander Technique and Princess Superstar, there are no doubts when it comes to DJs Are Not Rockstars, because what you get is pure house music, addictive hooks, searing beats, and bang-on remixes of well-known tracks. Alexander’s explanation behind the origins of the honest title is simple, “DJs are just not rockstars, man. Y’know, you just get paid to play other people’s music, and you should just have fun. Stop thinking you’re all that”. Oh, but Alexander, we beg to differ once you’re at the console with thousands of arms in the air just for you.
