Soo Kee Restaurant

Not to be confused with the Soo Kee mee stall in Jalan Imbi, the 20-year old Soo Kee Restaurant instead has char siew and roast duck in a class of its own. While its food is well renowned, it is however, notorious for its ambience and hygiene, cockroach body odour and oil-stained walls included. That being said, their char siew is marinated and barbequed to perfection; caramelised and crisp, with an inner of sticky fat, leaving its rice and condiments with an excusable lack of aptness. However, the price can be known to be dependant on your relationship with the owners or your appearance. People normally pay this meal between RM6 and RM10. If chicken, pork or duck rice is not quite your thing, they also serve a good variety of mixed rice, steamed fish, sweet and sour pork, har lok, braised chicken feet and Cantonese noodles.
