3-in-1: BADminton, bizarre death by reverse, new car smell
This is like 3-in-1 shampoo, only with less suds!
1) Lee Chong Wei's meltdown at Beijing Olympics final

All that hype and it was over in 39 minutes. Potong stim. With all that pre-match talk about "fighting til the death" it was disappointing watching Lee Chong Wei fumble thru an A-grade lacklustre performance littered with mistakes and poor netplay.
I had an aunt who was crazy about badminton and this brought back memories about the '92 Olympics when the 3 Sidek brothers (Rashid, Razif and Jalani) were competing in the singles and doubles only to falter at the quarter & semi-final stages. When they made stupid mistakes, she'd walk all the way up to the screen and jentik the players on their heads. I'll bet she'd have done that on Sunday.
Penang-born artist Munkao has a funny little art-piece that should serve as inspiration for Malaysia's badminton players. Click!
2) Wife reverses car, runs over husband

The Star reported a bizarre death in Kota Tinggi as a woman accidentally ran over her husband while trying to reverse her car in their driveway.
Breakdown: Husband was standing in front of the vehicle. Wife wanted to reverse but put the gear into drive and hit the gas. Car lurched forward and hit her 52-year-old husband, causing him to sustain fatal head injuries which he eventually succumbed to at the hospital. Ouch.
Our office's take on bizarre deaths:
- Adlin Rosli (Content Manager): Choking on a lemang during Raya Break while watching Final Destination 1, 2 or 3
- Michelle (Editorial Intern): Neon light falling into the bathtub.
- Wan (Writer): Death by root canal
- April Kuan (Editor of sister publication, Junk): A woman choking to death while performing a BJ (ahem)
3) New car smell - nice for impending brain damage

Someone in the office got a new set of wheels today! It was delivered to our office and the first thing everyone did was have a whiff at the new car smell. But before anyway thinks about a new-car-sniffing-frenzy, CNN points out that the smell is potentially hazardous to health due to the presence of toxic chemicals. Kinda like sniffing glue - smells nice but makes you retarded. Read about it here and here.
