Taking over from the venue previously known as Sugar, China White is Crowne Plaza Mutiara’s contribution to the KL nightlife segment of high end nightclubs for partygoers who are into sophistication, R&B and podium dancers. Officially launched in January, China White is definitely the place for a joy-deprived thirsty clientele. With its Oriental-inspired décor – gold fabric, red lanterns and lounge noir atmosphere – the club recalls the clubs of days gone by, when rendezvous-ing in the the dark confines of a cavernous basement club was de riguer. Which makes China White perfect for veterans of the scene who wish to relive their glory days or young ones who are curious about experiencing the kind of decadence they never got to enjoy. The music policy definitely helps. Playing a mix of R&B favourites and choice picks from the late ‘70s disco funk era, China White knows how to bring back the shine to a faded era. Drinks start from RM19, while bottle promotions start from around RM300. And starting January throughout February, look out for live performances by Chelsia Ng.
