Guan Di

Review | Posted on 01 March 2008 by sarah

The most beautiful restaurant in an area of casual eateries, Guan Di serves high-end Chinese cuisine that is inventive. With chefs hailing from Guangzhou (to go with the China-imported decor, of course), the menu has plenty of creations unique to the restaurant.

The tofu with gingko was absolutely wonderful in presentation and execution. Though the dishes are the highlight, Guan Di also serves individual rice and noodle dishes. The claypot rice with Chinese sausage is simple but masterfully prepared. As mentioned, Guan Di is a high-end restaurant, which means its prices are considerably higher than the other outlets in the area—in some cases, almost to the standard of hotel restaurants. But in an area filled with similarly unimaginative restaurants, Guan Di really stands out.
