Thye Hong at Food Republic is easy to spot thanks to the straw hats the staff wear. The menu is simple and includes dishes like fried kway teow, omelette oyster, fried carrot cake and the speciality, fried prawn noodle.
The fried prawn noodle (RM7) is a sizeable serving of egg and glass noodles wok fried with prawns, scrambled egg, taugeh and garnished with chilli and spring onion. It’s something unique to the outlet and worth trying. The omelette oyster, however, (RM7) is too starchy and greasy with very few oysters. For something heavier, try the fried carrot cake (RM6.50). Though not the best, it was still satisfying.
