Death, Dessert and Daphne

Hey there!
Right to meat of it: What has been the absolute worst thing you've seen at a poetry recital? You don't have to mention names, of course. Unless you want to.
Well, at the past two Slams, there were participants who insisted on singing and it was pretty dire, for various reasons.
Oh my. That must've been worse than someone starting out with, "There was a nun from Nantucket". Alright then, in that case list your three personal criteria for a kickass poetry reading.
Confidence, good diction, a good poem.
I was about to say a competent DJ with a massive breaks collection would help, but that's a freestyle throwdown. My bad. If you could have a Poetry Slam anywhere in KL, and money or circumstance was no object, where would it be and why?
Luna Bar? Although we might be a little to rowdy for that place. The view would be inspiring though.
Whoa. How rowdy is rowdy, though? Nevermind, I don't think I'd want to know what goes on in an episode of Poets Gone Wild. What's the biggest misconception people have about poetry slams?
That's they're boring and about pretentious wankers showing off. They ARE mainly about pretentious wankers showing off but they're certainly not boring!
Surely you jest. What can we expect to see at the Poetry Slam segment of Urbanscapes 2008?
Well, since the theme is Death & Dessert, I hope we'll see people getting on stage and having orgasms on stage over chocolate and cream pies, and ice cream.
Now, see. I told you I don't want to know anything about Poets Gone Wild!
