The Hennessy Artistry: The Global Art of Mixing series just keeps getting better, and this month’s event sees its most international line-up yet. While we’ve been used to attending Hennessy Artistry events in a club, they’re shaking it up and offering something different this time around. Be prepared for a concert experience at the Bukit Kiara Indoor Arena, featuring performer like Flo Rida, Machi, Latin Prince, Pop Shuvit and VJ Callen.

One of the event’s biggest draw is of course chart-topping rapper Flo Rida. Born Tramar Dillard, he got the name Flo Rida from his home state which is er, Florida of course (d’oh). As a teenager, he tried various time to break into the music industry but to no success. That all changed though when he received a call from Poe Boy Entertainment just last year. Within that short time, Flo Rida has done pretty well for himself. His single “Low” hit number one in the charts and received tremendous airplay worldwide, no doubt boosted by its inclusion in the movie Step Up 2: The Streets. His subsequent singles “Elevator” (with Timbaland) and “In The Ayer” (will Will.I.Am) are bonafide club bangers, so it should be interesting to see how Flo Rida translates it to suit a venue like this.

Representing Taiwan is hip-hop supergroup Machi. Acknowledged as one of Asia’s best, Machi currently has nine active members (with a few on hiatus) and is led by founder Jeffrey Huang. Amongst one of the group’s many achievements (like owning Machi Entertainment, one of the largest hip-hop labels in the region) is their collaboration with Missy Elliot on Work It, Jump 2003. Be sure you’re present to check out what exactly makes Machi so good. In the mean time, be entertained by San Francisco’s Latin Prince, our very own Pop Shuvit and visual wizardry from Callen.
