Can you make a movie in 2 days? The 48 Hour Film Project wants YOU!

The international 48 Hour Film Project was first conceived in 2001; it was designed to answer a curious question: can a watchable film be made in two days? Scheduled for October, the KL leg of this year's 48 Hour Film Project expects to be "a very good platform for talented Malaysian filmmakers to demonstrate their creativity", to audiences both in Malaysia and abroad.

How it works: participating teams have exactly 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and score a short film (maximum length: seven minutes). Each participating team selects the genre of their celluloid masterpiece from a random draw, 15 minutes before the start of the competition. They are furnished with a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue that must appear in the finished movie also. The winning KL team (selected by a panel of judges) will go on to represent Malaysia in the 48 Hour Film Project finals at Las Vegas' Filmapalooza 2011!

If you've no filmmaking ambitions, but remain a "discriminating viewer who wants to see something new" - fear not! A festival will accompany KL's 48 Hour Film Project, featuring movie screenings, performances and merchandise booths.

The 48 Hour Film Project arrives in KL on 16 & 17 October 2010. Interested in participating? Log on to www.48hourfilm.com/kuala lumpur/ for more information and complete rules, or join www.facebook.com/kl48hourfilmproject!
