Soundscape Records presents Lite and Lymbyc System Preview

Friday, 02/07/10 - 16:00PM Filed in Music by yangching | Views: 936 | Comments: 0

Here's a rare treat for underground music devotees - LITE from Japan and Lymbyc Systm from the US will be landing in KL for a double-headlining performance.

Lymbyc Systm, which consists of brothers, Jared and Michael Bell, is well known for their ambient electronics and heavy soundscapes. Citing bands like Tortoise, Explosions in the Sky and Flour Tet as influences, their compositions artfully combine infectious melodies, vintage keyboards, analog effects, dynamic drumming and intricate laptop programming into a style that "blurs the borders between post-rock, indie-rock, and the most organic electronic music".

LITE, on the other hand, has a darker, post-rock edge. The band is made up of Nobuyuki Takeda (guitar), Kozo Kusumoto (guitar), Jun Izawa (bass), Akinori Yamamoto (drums) and has been touted as one of the most interesting bands to emerge from Japan in recent years, thanks to their live shows that are described as "incendiary"! Since they'll be performing on the eve of their new mini release entitled Illuminate, fans can probably expect a sneak peek of new tunes alongside staples from their back catalogue. The opening acts will be Citizens of Ice Cream and Akta Angkasa.
