Cubes
Posted on 02 June 2008 by claudiaDon’t be fooled by Cubes’ “hot night spot” décor and standard presentation of western cutlery. This is a Chinese restaurant—and a pretty good one too. The people behind the restaurant are sworn perfectionists who insist on making every order from scratch using only the freshest of ingredients. With work ethic like that, it’s difficult to go wrong when you order anything. Highlights here include any of their fresh served tofu dishes, such as the braised beancurd topped with radish, mushroom and dried scallops (RM14.80) as well as their yin yang spare ribs (RM23.80). The rips are served with two types of sauces; a more traditional honey glazed together with a western twist of black pepper mushroom. Their soups, namely the Szechuan, and watercress are already reported best sellers at the very new establishment, both priced at RM10. Freshness clearly makes a huge difference as Cubes has succeeded in titillate the palate. The restaurant also offers an excellent selection of mid-range wines to go with the dishes.
