East Meets West
Posted on 02 June 2008 by claudiaBrought to you by the same people behind Crystal Jade Restaurant,Crystal Jade Kitchen, and C-Jade Express, comes Amuleto. Newly opened at Mid Valley Megamall, this restaurant serves a commendable selection of pork-free Western dishes with a hint of Thai and Japanese influences--all whipped up in their see-through kitchen. For a place that gives us the impression of being a classy fine dining restaurant--with its posh interior design and stiff, crease-less tablecloths--Amuleto insist that they are a family restaurant with a variety of value-for-money dishes to cater to most palates. A few "must-try" items include the soft-shell crab, delightfully light and crunchy to the bite, with sweet juicy meat within. For the fickle-minded, go for the Quarter Soup that is served in four shot glasses containing four varieties of thick soup. This dish is flavourful and very welcoming as it snuggles up comfortably to the stomach, leaving one utterly content. The restaurant's rosti is also worth trying. The dish is excellent with its crispy texture and delicious fresh mushrooms on top. Hats off to the people behind Crystal Jade Holdings then who have made this daring step venturing into something out of their usual repertoire and ended up doing a splendid job.
