The Pink Sage Diner and Pantry

Monday, 02/06/08 - 14:54PM Filed in Food by claudia | Views: 1154 | Comments: 0

Lodged between districts possessing flawless equilibrium between old school glamour and chic modernity stands the Pink Sage Diner and Pantry, right where it belongs. Part update, part hybrid, the Pink Sage is distinct as a gorgeous amalgamation of a contemporary, yet traditional American diner and Italian trattoria.

Albeit contemporary standards of the clichéd emphasis in clean, angular cuts amidst some serious amount of whitewash, the Pink Sage is forgiven in its grounding of persimmon mosaic tiles and intricate detailing that truly make it a modern day diner. With leather cushioned white booths, low dangling lights of Flos sophistication and a bar that in all its sleekness, embodies a kitchen counter at the same time, The Pink Sage is invitingly warm, maintaining a strong level of refinement.

In true diner pizzazz, the counter keeps a permanent waiter behind it, making service a delight. It also boasts the free flow house coffee we see on TV whenever some protagonist feels to mull. While casual lunches and happy hour munchies with a pantry full of takeaways cater to the hungrily fast-paced city folk, hearty laid back breakfasts are the way to go. Doling out an assortment from the staple pancakes (RM8.50 for a 3 stacker) and French toast (RM12) to the unexpected like the mozzarella quesadillas (RM10.50), The Pink Sage has something for everybody, accompanied with House and some Bjork-like hum and drone. A truly quirky mix.

The Pink Sage Diner and Pantry is located on the Ground floor of Wisma RA, 12 Jalan Dang Wangi, 50100 Kuala Lumpur. For reservations or enquiries, give them ring at 03-2693 5002 or head over there from 8am to 7pm.
