Apostrophe Short Short Film
Tags: apostrophe, short film | Posted on 08 May 2008 by didiIf you were in the BSC area on Tuesday evening you would've noticed some interesting things happening directly across from BSC. You would've seen some neat projections on the windows of The Glasshouse building.
DiGi showcased the winners of Apostrophe Short Short films that night. Out of hundreds of entries, six talented young filmmakers were chosen as winners. The winners were Amir Rashid Othman, Fatul Ghazali, Johan Arif Mazlan, Nik Ahmad Faiz, Tan Ek Hoong and Tan Zi Hao....all boys!? Where the girls at?
The challenge was to create a 160 second (or less) film based on the theme makan, a favorite Malaysian pastime. You can check out the winning entries at Apostrophe's website. My fave was the one about Maggi!

The winners scored a Sony Mini-DV as well as an all-expenses paid trip to Hanoi, Vietnam where they'll have the opportunity to continue their creative journey by working on a collaborative filmmaking project under the wise tutelage of indie filmmaker, Zan Azlee, (one of the mentors for this programme). Other mentors also inclde, Azharr Rudin, Mussadique Suleiman, Tan Chui Mui, Woo Ming Jin and Zan Azlee.
Keep checking back to the Apostrophe website for more cool creative programmes in the future.
