Dim Sum For All
Posted on 30 April 2008 by deniseThough yummy and fun, dim sum has long been a no-no for halal diners. But not anymore. Recently opened Oriental Spoon aims to cater to all races in Malaysia. Thanks to two veteran dim sum chefs from Guangzhou who struggled to make dim sum equally delectable and juicy without using pork or lard. The end result? Scrumptious! Truth to be told, it tasted no different than the pork-variant, but maybe my tastebuds aren't that sensitive.
Oriental Spoon is located in Sooka Sentral, just next to KL Sentral, ideal for commuters wanting a quick bite. Take a whiff of its gorgeous dim sum selections like har gau (steamed prawn dumplings), shark's fin dumplings, steamed siew mai with fresh scallops, stewed beef with white radish, or deep fried chewy dumpling; anything anytime of the day. If your office is around the Sentral area, you can have dim sum delivered to your desk for orders above RM20.
But it’s not all about dim sum at Oriental Spoon as the menu has other delicious, halal Chinese dishes with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood. Must-try dishes include crabs stewed with chilli sauce, steamed fish fillet with assam curry sauce, prawns baked in butter sauce and lots more. Oh, one more reason why you should dine in Oriental Spoon on the weekends: 30% off on dim sum. Enough said.
