Cotton On

Sunday, 01/11/09 - 21:30PM Filed in Lifestyle by sarah | Views: 3169 | Comments: 0

They say good things come to those who wait. After Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, it’s now Malaysia’s turn to be in the street wear fashion spotlight. Say hello to Cotton On, boys and girls.

Founded in 1991, the Aussie brand started with one store in Geelong, Australia. Since then, Cotton On has quickly evolved into a retail powerhouse. To date, they are rocking the international retail scene with fast-paced, cutting edge street wear that’s easy on the wallet.

With a significant presence in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore, Cotton On opened its first megastore in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last September. Occupying two spaces on one end of the mall, Cotton On is brimming with goodies for girls and guys. From shorts to dresses and shirts to scarves and shoes, you’ll find intimates, sleepwear and active wear from Cotton On Body. “The response has been overwhelming,” says Cotton On Group’s Area Manager (Asia-Malaysia), Amzah Hassan.

While stock changes every fortnight, he says Cotton On sells out its stock pretty fast. Apart from irresistible seasonal deals throughout the year, we’ve been told to expect a factory outlet, more Cotton On stores (including children’s fashion with Cotton On Kids and footwear Rubi Shoes) in Malaysia. What’s there not to love about Cotton On?

Cotton On is also available in One Utama and Sunway Pyramid.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
