Catch of the Day

Sunday, 01/11/09 - 21:03PM Filed in Food by sarah | Views: 2383 | Comments: 0

The newest venture by the Nero group of restaurants is a far cry from Nero Teca, Nero Fico or Nero Vivo. Named High Tide, it is a restaurant that specializes in fish and seafood.

Managed by Carole Pinel, with kitchen affairs in the hands of Head Chef, Evert Onderbeke, High Tide aims to be a restaurant with emphasis on fresh seafood done in fine European style. Their deliveries arrive every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from countries as varied as Japan, Australia, USA and France.

Chef Evert – who trained under 2 Michelin Star Chef, Roger Souvereyns – recommends their tuna platter to start and a seafood platter (oysters, lobster, mussels, langoustine, prawns, clams) to share between two diners or more. They have an impressive cellar as well, so do pair your meal with a glass! Prices are on the steep side, but for special occasions or an oceanic treat, High Tide brings something fresh to the local dining scene.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
