A Public Little Corner

Wednesday, 28/10/09 - 12:52PM Filed in Nightlife by sarah | Views: 2410 | Comments: 0

In the very center of Plaza TTDI, lies Public, the latest concept bar to open up in the area. Unlike any other bar in the vicinity, Public is literally public. There are no walls to restrain your glamorous night out with friends or to contain your hysterical laughter from any passerby. At first, it may sound extremely revealing and uncomfortable… until you realize that it’ll be an entire bar filled with glamorous people laughing and having great times.

Public stocks many imported beers including Paul Laner, Leffe, and Kilkenny (which have been priced very reasonably). Also, they have a T-Bar installed, which makes them the second bar in Malaysia to use such a dispenser. Obviously, it makes no difference to the taste of your drink, but bearing in mind it lends a neater look to the entire get up. With plants around and fan pillars, Public is one of the most comfortable bars around.

They’ve got a stage to host bands and events, a large screen for any visual display and the looks to go with it. The setup is very organic in design, making it comfortable for patrons. The experience of spending a night here is very much like drinking at home in good company because the spatial limits are almost non-existent and you don’t feel cooped up in a dingy little corner.

Public is located at the center of Plaza TTDI, Jalan Wan Kadir 3, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
