Gelato, Gelati

Friday, 25/04/08 - 16:57PM Filed in Food by denise | Views: 3064 | Comments: 1

One gelato, many gelati. Many gelato shops, one Gelatissimo. It’s finally here! The connoisseur’s gelato establishment from Down Under opened its first store in Malaysia at The Gardens, Mid Valley. Pleasing its strong base of Malaysian fans, the opening of Gelatissimo in Kuala Lumpur has got to be the best dessert news we've got all year. Or at least one of. What sets Gelatissimo apart from other gelato joints in the Klang Valley is its attention to detail. Every step that goes into making Gelattisimo gelato is a painstaking procedure of maintaining temperatures and getting just the right balance of ingredients to get that unmistakable texture that’s neither ice cream nor icicle, but something altogether smackalicious. Even the gelati placed in its ice box display is a detailed work of art. And yes, they make their own gelato fresh daily. Gelatissimo Malaysia is constantly at work to bring in only the flavours we want while also improving on the taste to suit our fussy Malaysian tastes. Currently there are 35 flavours to choose from. Among the crowd favorites are Mango, and Rum and Raisin. They also serve milkshakes, affogato-style coffee, and Italian Soda which is a mix of soda water with your choice of any sorbet gelato. Prices start at RM7.90 a scoop. It only takes one sample spoonful of Gelatissimo gelato to win you over, just three more and you'll have no reason to turn back.
