Sole Lovely
Posted on 25 April 2008 by julianBangsar Village is different from other malls because instead of going the anchor tenant way, it’s focused itself on unique stores. One of those stores is Sole Lovely, a lovely little footwear boutique with glass windows so wide you can stare at the shoes to your heart's content. The boutique started off as an extension of proprietor Sheryl Lim's love for shoes, ever since she first saw Dorothy's red ruby slippers in the film The Wizard Of Oz. As a shoe enthusiast, Lim doesn’t just stock any type of shoes at Sole Lovely. Instead she chooses designs that are elegant and eye-catching. But Sole Lovely's collection is far from pretentious. From flats to wedges to stacked heels,. You may not find many slingback stilettos here but with good reason, Sheryl prefers to stock shoes that everyone can wear all day long. Shoe prices start at RM200 a pair.
For those who have already experienced this boutique's collection will agree that their shoes are worth its price tag as they are definitely better built than shoes of similar price elsewhere. Anyway, trying on a pair of shoes is a dream. The boutique's interior is a shoe lover's fantasy. Inside, plush chesterfield styled furniture welcome you. Sheryl says the shop's interior is an extension of the concept behind the shoe collection. “I wanted ladies to walk in, relax and settle down to exploring the shoes in an unforced atmosphere,” she says. Here you will find shoes on the floor and on the furniture instead of sterile-looking wall mounted shelves of most shoe boutiques. “It took some time to recreate what I imagined to be a most elegant and relaxing space for a lady - an old world woman's drawing room - almost something out of a Jane Austen's novel,” she says. If you must visit another shoe boutique before the year is out, this is it. With new designs coming in at least once a month, Sole Lovely is another store you must put on your Bangsar shopping list.
