Different But Same Preview

Wednesday, 02/09/09 - 12:00PM Filed in The Arts by myra | Views: 1561 | Comments: 0

When we say photography buffs are in for a treat this month, we really mean it! Wei-Ling Gallery will be putting up a photography exhibition called Different But Same.

Looking at the actual act of photographing, the exhibition will unearth the different photography techniques and approaches used by some of KL’s best photographers. Additionally, the works presented at Different But Same may address or open up more discourse on the question of what photography is and how we can understand it. Participating photographers include Azril K Ismail, Tan Chee Hon, Erna Dyanty, Yee I-Lann, Alex Wong, Hock Seng, Pang Khee Teik, Bernice Chauly, Ceacer Chong and more.

Different But Same runs at Wei-Ling Gallery between 1 – 14 September.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
