Life Is Like A Bucket Of Shrimp
Posted on 25 April 2008 by deniseForrest Gump was a movie that spawned many things – awards, teary eyes, cringe-worthy quotes that still get mentioned today, and, believe it or not, its very own restaurant chain. The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., which if you can remember was the shrimp-fishing company Forrest started in memory of his dead army friend Bubba, is a seafood restaurant that started in the USA. It’ll be making its way to The Curve this April. Finally, an American restaurant that isn’t Tex-Mex. The restaurant will resemble Forrest’s abode in Alabama and decorating its walls will be film memorabilia, production stills, costumes… like the movie exploded on it, basically. The restaurant has found success in countries like Hong Kong, the Philippines and Bali, so it seems like their food is suitable to Asian palates. With four or more Bubba Gumps planned to open soon, we’ll know soon enough if Forrest’s Southern hospitality will win us over.
