Break your daily routine, go out and have some fun. Be a tourist in your own city for a day and rediscover the KL for FREE! This week's top 10 includes adopting a tree (yes, literally), learning the drums, watching a movie and going clubbing for free.

1. Historical tour at Merdeka Square
It's the month of August, so go down memory lane and hang out your Jalur Gemilang. Don't forget your camera!

2. Adopt a tree campaign
We've blogged about Green Lifestyle campaign yesterday. Recycle your old mobile phones and batteries into the Nokia Kiosk and Nokia will plant a tree on your behalf (only for mobile phone). All entries will also stand a chance to win a brand new Nokia phone.

3. Tugu Drum Circle
Whether you wanna learn to play drums/percussions or just to hang out and listen the Tugu Drum Circle doing their thing, head out to Plaza Tugu Negara at the Lake Gardens on Sundays. They play from 5.30pm till 8.30pm. Check them out on Facebook.

4. Batu Caves
Feeling adventurous? Take a trip to Batu Caves! Fyi, Batu Caves is made of limestone caves formed that were formed some 400 million years ago. Go up the 272 steps because it's good for you. Trust us, a little workout has never hurt anyone. Read reviews here about the temple and what to do in preparation for your "hike".

5. Royal Selangor Pewter Factory
Opened from 9am - 5pm daily, learn the history of this family company and the process of making pewter goods. You can also make your own pewter bowl! Map to the factory is available here.

6. Monday Night Movie at Annexe Gallery
If you're into obscure foreign films, then you might want to check out Annexe Gallery's Monday Night Movie. It's a monthly event that's curated by guest curators, including Amir Muhammad, James Lee, Daphne Iking and more. While the screening a free, do bring your snacks! Get more info here.

7. The Craft Center
Located in downtown KL, the craft centre is a one-stop cultural centre where visitors can watch artisans at work and buy their crafts. Here, you can also learn a traditional skill like batik printing from the experts themselves. The center also holds special arts events periodically throughout the year. Read reviews here.

8. Petronas Twin Towers's Skybridge
You see that bridge between the two towers? That's the Skybridge. It's accessible and it's free but you'll need to go to the counter extra early. (they issue the tickets as early as 8.30am). The tickets go out very, very fast so you've been warned. Btw, it's closed on Mondays. Visit the official website for more info.

9. Clubbing at Zouk
Add Zouk Malaysia as a friend on Facebook and enjoy benefits.

10. Free W1max at Sunway Pyramid
This might not sound all that 'fun' but you'll get to surf the net, stream videos and etc. without paying a single cent.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
