Apartment Cuisine
Posted on 25 April 2008 by deniseOn one of our many investigative jaunts around town, we heard that the venue formerly known as Slippery Senoritas in The Curve is to be turned into a restaurant called The Apartment. Yeah, we thought it intriguing too. So we had to ask the main person behind the project Petrina Roach, director of Laundry Bar—and not incidentally one of this year’s Blue Chilli finalists—what it’s all about. In typical Trina fashion, she says the concept of the restaurant is inspired by Jamie Oliver's cool hangout place where everyone feels at home, comfortable and chilled out while having good food and listening to yummy music. She describes it as “a space, to escape the usual restaurant culture,” a place where you can “share a pitcher of cold lemonade, a glass of sexy cocktail, a cheese platter, sit around and chat, order your meals, sit, read a book, mull over a cup of hot chocolate.” Hmm… if only my apartment was like that. Watch this space.
