Selangor Musical Extravaganza 2009

Friday, 31/07/09 - 12:09PM Filed in Music by myra | Views: 3532 | Comments: 0

Conceptualised by YAB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and brought to life by Elizabeth Wong, the Selangor Musical Extravaganza 2009 is a platform for musical expressions and appreciation. From August 1 - 9, Shah Alam will be transformed into a music hub for this special event.

Aptly themed "Eclectic Mix of Rhythmic Sensations", the event features new and promising performers and entertainers from diverse music backgrounds. Expect to see cultural performances (balle-balle, cempuling, cempuling meru, dikir barat, traditional dance, etc), indie bands/musicians, street musical festival, competitions, a "Mini Cars" exhibition and more. Also look out for the likes of Yuna, Azmyl Yunor, Meor Yusoff, Rahmat Haron, Tugu Drum Circle amongst others.

The Selangor Musical Extravaganza 2009 begins this weekend and runs up to 9 August. For more information about the music event, visit its official website here.

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
