New Home For Pork Lovers
Posted on 24 April 2008 by sarahIt’s official. Changkat Bukit Bintang is the place to go for any self respecting swine lover. The number of non-halal and pork-friendly restaurants in the area is bordering on saturation. The people behind Flams have just opened Bermuda And Onion, situated slap bang in the middle of the strip, a fine dining establishment with pork on its eclectic Italian cuisine menu.
Among the delicacies you can find here include varieties of panini (RM18-23), pasta (RM20-28), stuzzichini (Italian ‘tapas’), all designed with and using copious amounts of pork. Also on offer are classic and fusion Italian meat dishes, from the humble grilled pork chop to Sino-Italian braised pig trotters. They also have a wide range of homemade quiches, cakes, gelati, soups and salads, all for under RM20.
To complement the richness of the menu, the restaurant boasts a long list of refreshing vegetable and fruit blended drinks. There’s also an almost all-day breakfast menu (12pm to 6pm on weekdays, 10am-6.30pm weekends) featuring six different breakfast sets based on differing breakfast choices of European countries (RM19-26). There’s a full bar menu, a good wine list and classic Italian aperitifs on offer as well, which would serve as perfect accompaniments to their interesting food. With a solid, airy and vaguely tropical décor and great music choice – this new bistrocafe is a place where the pigs certainly do not fly!
