Snip, Snap!

Based in Singapore, Snupped is an outfit that takes gadget personalisation (and protection) seriously. Started by childhood buddies Bryan and Darcy, Snupped produces handmade unique laptop sleeves. “We realised there were very few cool-looking sleeves for us to carry around our laptops with,” Bryan recalls. “We chanced upon some fabric while shopping and decided to get our hands dirty by making our own.” Just forget those typical yawn fests that only seem to come in grey and black, Snupped has got something far better. Each sleeve is a playground of colour and quirky graphics, from floral patterns to eccentric skulls. “We draw our inspirations from the crazy, funky and happy,” Bryan admits. “We usually do the ‘does this make us smile’ test when we look for designs.” They aren’t out to make a quick buck at the expense of the environment either. “Compared to other laptop sleeve materials like neoprene,” Bryan explains, “we use cotton because one of our main concerns is that our business will be able to play a small part in helping protect our environment. Plus, we also love the feel of cotton!” You can customise the size, design and even the interior details of your sleeve on their user-friendly website. It takes whopping three to five weeks to craft a Snupped laptop sleeve, making the SGD$39.90–50 worth every penny. Shipping to Malaysia is just SGD$5, so head on over to snupped.com and make your laptop happy!

What do you wish you had more of as a child?
Pocket money! I used to get only 20sen back in school.
Respect from my parents. I am my own person!
I wish my parents listened to me, instead of keeping to the idea that "children should be seen and not heard"
Attention! My siblings took it away from me. Grrr!
Freedom. My parents never let me go out with my friends.
Brand new clothes, not hand-me-downs that were ill-fitting!
Maturity to impress and annoy the adults with.
Time! Everything happened so quickly and I miss those carefree days.
Toys, gadgets and the latest computer games, because we kids were competitive about things like that.
I certainly wish I heard less of the phrase, "When I was your age..."
