Indie film expert in town!
Tags: film | Posted on 07 April 2008 by sarahThe people at British Council sure know how to make life interesting for us. This Wednesday (9 April), they've got a treat for all budding filmmakers, both indie and mainstream, out there. They're flying in Mark Cosgrove to talk about the foundations of film festivals, and how one can go about building and structuring one. He'll also be dishing out some advice to aspiring filmmakers on how they can get their films on the international film fest circuit.
What makes him an expert you ask? Cosgrove is currently the Head of Exhibition at Watershed Media Centre and he's also the Artistic Director of the Encounters Short Film Festival, the biggest gathering of short films in the UK. I would definitely want to get his perspective on all things film. Admission for the talk is free but you have to register first at arts@britishcouncil.org.my as it is on a first come first served basis.
